The Museum Attendant by Studio AIRPORT

The project ‘The museum attendant’ is based on the expertise that the museum attendant possesses which is mainly, looking at art. An attendant who has worked in a museum for 20 years, has spent approximately 38.400 hours in the surroundings of a piece of art. What we searched for was the love they share with their favorite artwork by placing them in a contemplative position instead of an observing position. This reference book contains five contemplations from five different attendants and their favorite artwork. It also provides a context in which this process takes shape. You are hereby invited to participate in the process of looking at art through the eyes of the attendant.
